Want a great way to close out National Forest Week? Join us on Saturday, September 23rd at our Base of Operations to see some Tiny Forest Demonstration Plots, learn about the Miyawaki Method of afforestation, and tour around the site as part of the city-wide Open NCC event. We are listed as a self-guided farm tour, but there will be plenty of us on hand to answer questions and guide activities, perhaps even help plant the Tiniest Tiny Forest! In fact, it is an amazing time for Tiny Forests in Ottawa! Hear all about some other projects we are involved with in the September 9th episode of CBC Radio’s Town & Out segment.
Event Date: September 23rd, 2023

Description: The Foret Capitale Forest team and the NCC Forestry team will be on-site to do roving presentations about the Miyawaki Method in the Tiny Forest Demonstration plots on site. You will also get an opportunity to see our already planted food-bearing trees and our lawn conversion tree guilds, as well as assist with tree care activities throughout the day. There may also be a small market stand operating during the day with organic produce and preserves from the fruit trees and bushes.
