Join us for a community tree planting event at Hampton Park! In partnership with Friends of Hampton Park and the National Capital Commission (NCC), we’ll be planting 100 trees and 100 shrubs to support the long-term health and resilience of the park’s forest canopy. Hampton Park is home to a remnant old-growth forest and will be celebrating its centennial in 2027. This planting is part of a broader effort to help sustain and strengthen this unique urban forest for years to come.
The interior of Hampton Park is designated as High Potential for Pre-Contact Archaeology. The NCC’s Volunteer Archaeology Program will support required due diligence throughout the planting event. Soil from planting holes will be screened on-site during the event.
No previous planting experience is required — we’ll provide all the tools and guidance you need! This is a family-friendly event, perfect for individuals, groups, and children of all ages.
