SUMMARY:Hampton Park Volunteer Tree Planting Event
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us for a community tree planting event at Hampton Park! 
 In partnership with Friends of Hampton Park and the National Capital Commi
 ssion (NCC)\, we’ll be planting 100 trees and 100 shrubs to support the 
 long-term health and resilience of the park’s forest canopy. Hampton Par
 k is home to a remnant old-growth forest and will be celebrating its cente
 nnial in 2027. This planting is part of a broader effort to help sustain a
 nd strengthen this unique urban forest for years to come.\n\n\n\nThe inter
 ior of Hampton Park is designated as High Potential for Pre-Contact Archae
 ology. The NCC's Volunteer Archaeology Program will support required due d
 iligence throughout the planting event. Soil from planting holes will be s
 creened on-site during the event.\n\n\n\nNo previous planting experience i
 s required — we’ll provide all the tools and guidance you need! This i
 s a family-friendly event\, perfect for individuals\, groups\, and childre

 ite gardening gloves. FCF will provide gloves if you don’t have any.\n\n
