Growing Together for a Greener Ottawa
Join us for Forêt Capitale Forest’s first Fundraising Luncheon & Workshop on September 14th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Just Food Community Farm, located at 2391 Pepin Court (Red Barn).
This event offers a wonderful opportunity to explore our on-site demonstration forests, enjoy a catered lunch, and participate in a hands-on interactive design workshop. Led by Shelley Lambert, Director at Forêt Capitale Forest and Chief Food Forester at Nanabush Food Forests, the workshop will cover a wide array of food-bearing trees, shrubs, perennials, and edible mushrooms you can grow at home. We’ll delve into the practical side of permaculture, showing you how to create an edible landscape that requires minimal maintenance and provides food, beauty, and pleasure year after year. It’s also a fantastic chance to network with like-minded individuals who share a passion for environmental stewardship and community engagement.
To support our mission, this fundraiser plays a crucial role in enabling us to continue our afforestation efforts in the National Capital Region as well as support our goal to develop a volunteer, citizen-based forestry program in Ottawa.
