Local Flavours Holiday Market

Over two weekends in early December, Forêt Capitale Forest attended the Local Flavours Holiday Market located in the Red Barn at the Just Food Community Farm.  We were thankful for the opportunity to share about our mission, vision, and current projects while serving warm apple cider to the local community.

We sold preserves made from forest-grown produce that were generously donated by Nanabush Food Forests and gave away FCF`s new Holiday Gift Cards for every donation made! All the proceeds from the market will go towards our projects for 2023!

12 Days of Afforestation – Growing Ottawa’s Urban Forest Canopy

We hope you enjoyed learning about FCF`s afforestation projects and mission throughout the 12 Days of Afforestation Fundraiser.

If you are looking for last minute stocking stuffers, we have created Holiday gift cards that can be digitally sent to you once you have made a donation! If you would like to receive a digital copy of the holiday card to accompany your donation email us at comms@foretcapitaleforest.ca for more details.

We wanted to wish all a very Happy Holidays from Forêt Capitale Forest! We hope you get the chance to spend time with friends and family this holiday season as well as enjoy the forests of the National Capital Region!

A Year in Review

A lot has happened over the last year and we wanted to share with you some exciting highlights of 2022! Throughout the year we built capacity with the help of 3 amazing interns taking on new challenges and pushing the organization forward; we’ve created and further developed key partnerships with organizations such as the NCC, Community Associations for Environmental Sustainability (CAFES Ottawa), and Envirocentre; and most important of all, FCF planted 750% more native trees and shrubs than in 2021.

We would like to thank all who volunteered and followed us in 2022 and we look forward to the exciting new projects in 2023!
