Pollinators need our help! Many pollinator species have been declining in recent years due to a multitude of factors, one of which is habitat loss. The Monarch Butterfly is one species that has been especially impacted by habitat loss. One plant family that is vital to the butterfly’s success is Milkweed. Monarch Butterfly caterpillars feed exclusively on milkweed species, such as Common Milkweed. Milkweed abundance and Monarch Butterfly abundance are intrinsically tied together.
Forêt Capitale Forest aims to plant pollinator friendly plants at our base of operations. So far, we have planted hundreds of native wildflowers in our Tiny Forests project such as common milkweed, bee balm, wild bergamot and purple coneflowers. Help us continue to protect and create local pollinator habitats.
