This event is open to the public and suitable for new volunteers and beginner urban forest stewards.
We are hosting an event at our Base of Operations on Thursday, May 29th from 10am-12pm. We’ll be removing invasive species from our tiny forest demonstration plots to reduce competition for space, light, and nutrients. This task involves light weeding and some bending or kneeling, but no heavy lifting. It’s a rewarding way to support tiny forest health and see up-close how our forests are growing and thriving!
Tree care activities will consist of weeding, watering, and mulching while learning about proper tree care techniques! Learn more about urban forest stewardship!
FCF will bring any supplies needed for the events.
Meeting Location: FCF Base of Operations
Parking: Free parking available at the Just Food Community Farm parking lot.
Please make sure to:
- Wear clothes that you find easy to move in and closed-toed shoes.
- Bring drinking water, as there is no drinking water source on site.
- Dress according to the weather.
- Optional: Your favourite gardening gloves. FCF will provide gloves if you don’t have any.
