The Red Barn Food Forest is the first project that is located at our Base of Operations being established in 2020. This food forest is designed purposefully as a wild space as a safe haven for a great variety of pollinators, birds and other wildlife. Many edible trees, shrubs and perennials are planted for multiple purposes, including food production, pollinator and wildlife habitat and restoration. Forêt Capitale Forest proudly stewards the food forest, caring for existing trees, soil and pathways and continually planting more food-bearing trees and shrubs! The food forest contains several exciting features including our Apple Alley, Berry Lane, Nut Grove Way, Great Oak Picnic Circle and our Grape Arbour Picnic Area

This meandering forest space provides an opportunity for the public to connect to nature and sustainable food production systems. Help us steward the Red Barn Food Forest and ensure that local communities have access to a place of wild beauty that showcases a restorative, low-input approach to food production.
