The objective of the Tiny Forests Together program is to empower passionate communities to bring a publicly accessible Tiny Forests into their neighbourhoods, by bridging the gap between technical expertise and community involvement. Let’s plant Tiny Forests, Together!
Tiny Forests Together Program
Following the success of our pilot program in 2025, we have decided to continue inviting passionate, driven community groups to submit applications for Tiny Forest projects in their communities. The roles and responsibility of the program are defined under the following acronym:

P.L.A.N.T T.I.N.Y
Forêt Capitale Forest will provide:
P – Project management (Guidance through every step)
L – Leverage with stakeholders (Industry experience that facilitates stakeholder engagement)
A – Assistance with funding (Helping secure resources)
N – Native trees and plants (Site-specific for forest resilience)
T – Training and industry expertise (Access to resources and expert guidance)
Community Groups will provide:
T – Team to plan and plant (Community-led with expert support)
I – Investment (Contribute with in-kind or financial support)
N – Neighbourhood knowledge (You bring the local insight!)
Y – Yearly maintenance (Ongoing care for 3 years following planting for a thriving Tiny Forest)

Before submitting an application, please read our Program Guide in it’s entirety. We have also prepared a series of resources (below) to help provide a better understanding of Tiny Forests and what goes into a Tiny Forest project. We recommend that you review these factsheets and share them with your project team, in advance of submitting your application.

- Project Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 16 m² in size (or minimum 4 m wide at all points
- Project will be on publicly accessible land, or private land that will be made accessible
- Project will incorporate plants from all layers of a forest (canopy trees, understory trees and shrubs, forest floor perennials)

- Application review timelines
We will review project applications on a rolling basis each year, near the closest business days to:
- January 5
- April 5
- August 5
We will aim to contact applicants within 4-6 weeks from the review dates, with the exception of projects proposed on school properties (please view our Program Guide for more details).
