DESCRIPTION:\nOverview\n\n\n\nTree Canada and Forêt Capitale Forest are ex
 cited to plant trees in honour of National Tree Day. Come out and celebrat
 e with us!\n\n\n\nTree Canada\, with the support of&nbsp\;Forêt Capitale 
 Forest\, invites you to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD)\, presented by&n
 bsp\;BMO. National Tree Day connects local action to national impact—whe
 n Canadians participate across the country\, we grow a movement that refle
 cts who we are and the future we want to build. Join us at&nbsp\;Remic Rap
 ids Park&nbsp\;to plant trees and connect with nature!\n\n\n\nVolunteers w
 ill participate in planting 300 native trees\, as well as watering and spr
 eading mulch around them.\n\n\n\nTree Canada experts and experienced volun
 teers will be on hand to support you and answer your tree-related question
 s. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—all you need to bring is your enth
 usiasm!\n\n\n\nHow you'll be making an impact:\n\n\n\nRemic Rapids Park&nb
 sp\;is located on the Ottawa River. It is known for its natural beauty and
  unique rock sculptures. The park offers scenic views of the river\, the c
 ity skyline\, and the Gatineau shoreline. It's a popular spot for walking\
 , biking\, and enjoying the outdoors\, with trails that connect to the lar
 ger Capital Pathway. The park is also home to a collection of balanced roc
 k sculptures created by artist John Felice Ceprano\, which are a major att
 raction.\n\n\n\nIn celebration of National Tree Day and in alignment with 
 the National Capital Commission’s Forest Strategy\, volunteers will plan
 t 300 trees of diverse species— including Black maple\, Basswood and Hac
 kberry— helping restore local biodiversity and climate resilience. We’
 ll also be spreading mulch and watering newly planted trees to give them t
 he best possible start. Join us in turning shovelfuls of soil into a lasti
 ng legacy for generations to come.\n\n\n\nFree Food:\n\n\n\nVolunteers can
  grab a snack and beverage\, courtesy of&nbsp\;Vachon&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Domi
 nion City Seltzer.\n\n\n\nWhat to wear and bring:\n\n\n\nVolunteers should
  wear and bring the following:\n\n\n\n\nWater bottle\n\n\n\nSturdy\, close
 d-toe shoes or boots\n\n\n\nLong pants\n\n\n\nComfortable\, weather-approp
 riate clothing\n\n\n\nSunscreen\n\n\n\nBug spray\n\n\n\nHat\n\n\n\nHand sa
 nitizer\n\n\n\n\nThis rain or shine event will take place unless the forec
 ast calls for thunderstorms or very heavy rainfall.\n\n\n\nWe look forward

 \n\nMeet along the pathway\, on the west side of the parking lot\, as indi
 cated on the map.\n\n\n\nParking:\n\n\n\nParking is available at Remic Rap
 ids Park. The community is encouraged to cycle\, walk\, carpool\, or use p
 ublic transit to the event. However\, overflow parking is available on nea
 rby residential streets with access to the park available along the Ottawa
  River Pathway. Participants should allocate enough time to walk to the si
 te along the Ottawa River Pathway should the parking lot become full.\n\n\
 n\n\n\n\n\nTerrain:\n\n\n\nEasy to moderate. Planting area is accessible f
 rom the paved pathway\, but walking across the planting site (grass or une
 ven terrain) will be required during the planting activity. The planting s
 ite is mildly sloped in some areas.\n\n\n\nAmenities:\n\n\n\nParking lot\,
